That's cool, I just want to understand the constraints :)
When I get better at designing these things I'd like to come up with an open standard for modules like this, and then design a number of different types of modules. I feel like Raspi/PINE/etc. standardized on the connector (SODIMM) but didn't put a lot of thought into coming up with a more broadly-usable pinout.
Now they are kind of stuck with it unless they want to obsolete all their existing stuff.

Is using the Raspi compute module one of your constraints?

That's a bummer.
I know you told me before, but I don't remember why you're not looking at PINE64's ClusterBoard?

@ekaitz_zarraga hopefully they will be more open than the Raspi itself and publish their designs 🤞 😀

@ekaitz_zarraga Nice!
Seems like I saw this (or something like it before) but the price was around $250 for the bare board?

Here's a beautiful little hardware project to start your day:

@jjg @nolan I wanted to make the exact same comment, twitter rage mobs are a thing but this thing went a lot wider than twitter with good reason and this whole article is doing some “both sides” reasoning, in which two sides only exist if you buy in to the racist logic of these hitler youth kids. A native american person isn’t a liberal and by definition the anti-thesis of an immigrant.

@nolan I agree with avoiding the online impotent rage trap, but this article reads like a more eloquent version of “some very fine people on both sides” to me.
Instead of talking about this problem we need to take action, before it’s too late.

it's time for my favourite game, Windows or Capitalism, where we try to guess whether a statement applies to windows or capitalism
- it's obnoxiously expensive for no reason
- corporate monopolies allow the big companies to stamp out alternatives and present themselves as the only option, driving up prices to ridiculous levels
- you are constantly pressured to spend money. in fact, if you don't have money, you can't participate at all
- advertisements are a fundamental element of the system
- most people who have souls despise it, but remain complacent because "what are the alternatives? this is the way things are"
- the mere mention of the names of alternatives disgusts many people
- the people in charge don't give a shit about youtrick question!! all of these statements apply to windows AND capitalism!!!!!

@yerazunis yeah you got me thinking, maybe I could find a programming language that *is* available on iOS (Python, Lua, etc.) and write a translator.
I wouldn’t even need all of OpenSCAD’s features, I don’t use all of them :)

User: Capitalism must fall sooner rather than later, or else it will take our planet with it. We must dispose of the Capitalist pigs now. No cops, no borders, no landlords. The time for revolution is coming. This vegan curry I just made is delicious.

@uint8_t @daniel_bohrer @fribbledom that might have some potential (just needs a more mobile-oriented front-end).

@yerazunis @uint8_t @fribbledom
My phone is iOS. The dev tools are Mac-only, so that’s a hurdle.
Emulation might be worth pursuing but given OpenSCAD’s graphics library dependencies it might be tough.
That said if I had the time it might be an interesting experiment to port the language to a compatible interpreter...?

I would *love* a native OpenSCAD app for my phone so I could work on designs from anywhere.

@fribbledom if your a programmer you might enjoy OpenSCAD (it’s my favorite)
