All the #corporations are suckers for community developed tech. They use it without shame. But don't want to have anything even hear to the world of community. #sony used freebsd for ps4. It doesn't acknowledge it. It is using #raspberry Pi. It is not acknowledging. I bought the #ps3 for gnu/Linux support which was aborted.
It is shocking to see many of the articles on #medium are clickbaits. That coming from somebody who believes in the paid model for news. They just take a current news feature and try to put it into a perspective of the current generation. I mean they force it. It is like using the -F flag and sending it through the throats.
Do you know someone with an older or lower-end laptop that struggles to run properly?
#Lubuntu is a good way of bringing old/slow computers back to life, and is very easy to use with a familiar Windows-style start menu and icon desktop 👍
Lubuntu is based on Ubuntu and runs the same Linux apps, but it has a lighter interface with much lower system requirements.
do u ever find yourself sitting in a library, and you see a fuck ton of books, and u think "damn it would be nice if I had no responsibilities or goals and I could just read books all day"
After reading https://kitty.town/@GinnyMcQueen/101688023906508502, I realized I did not know of any complete, non-technical and debutant friendly overview explaining what is git, a pull request, a fork, an issue, a release...
I've spend the last few hours writing soemthing to, hopefully help with that.
What do you think of it? I'd really appreciate your feedback!
PSA for schools: Google is not your friend. Google does not want to help you learn. Google collects data on your students and they have no option to opt-out. You sign contracts on their behalf that sign their data away to massive companies who have no accountability. Attending public school is not a choice, and you should not force students to use spyware without their explicit consent. You should not base entire classes on proprietary spyware.
