    @raphaelbastide i would prefer a p2p one, where you could copy "blocks" from other users to your own "archive". you would always own all your data, it would be offline-first and the discovery method of are.na could work in a p2p network easily (connections through blocks and channels)

    @ella_kane @ella_kane heh, if he really believes what he says he believes and is as smart and empathetic as i think he is, he'll be back. maybe it wasnt worth it otherwise.

    it sucks, because i almost fell down that hole too. i know how the arguments go, and how the politics is muddied in between reasonable advice. how convincing the rationale is. i reminded of what "the purpose" of us and everything is and amybe he'll remember more

    also this is the first time ive been called y0x3y and i love it thanks :blobheart:

    we ended up having a "debate" that started with free speech and eventually lead to Buddhism, and i was able to tear apart a lot of his arguments, and we agreed on a bunch of things.

    of course he believes in western superiority and is looking for a group to hate 🙄

    i think i was able to change his mind about a lot of things too, which is a good sign. free speech is such a strange hill to die on and he's beginning to recognize that there are forces at larger play. i hope he's able to continue out this rabbit hole
