I'm impressed by the project, they've done a bang up job with implementation - opting to integrate with existing subsystems instead of just crashing into a system with opinions.

I donated $50 to the project, I hope that helps to support their developers and show my appreciation for their tooling.

This doesn't *feel* right, but I don't see an obvious hole in the logic.

@thurloat Right on! Sorry, I legit just never know with how often BC is the punchline of a tech joke.

So that's what you were using the NanoPC T4's for? :D I find they are still super capable SoC's - but when min/maxing I think its def. worth a check on those A311D SoC's.

@sungo @kurtm its easy to pick on the big fish, big target. All the same, allow me to clear up some misconceptions. Fonts in ubuntu are super easy

    https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-install-fonts-on-ubuntu-18-04-bionic-beaver-linux

mkdir $HOME/.fonts, and cp them in there. it'll get recursively included. You may have to relaunch an app or two because they were running when you added fonts... but all the same.

    hope this helps πŸ™‡

With each passing day, and each day I don't work on my KCP53010 processor design, I yearn ever more for going back to a simple stack architecture CPU.

RISC-V is nice, but holy hell is it complicated to implement. Even a ridiculously simple implementation requires many thousands of lines of Verilog. nMigen is helping, but not by much.

A functional stack CPU can be implemented in as little as 2000 LOC of Verilog, and that's really pushing things.
