It happens all the time. Someone asks "What's the system running on your computer?
Then, if I answer "OpenBSD" I get questions like "What is it?" "Why is it better?" "Why don't other people use it?" etc... and it's boring. Especially when it get to the kind of question "Convince me I should use it then".
I don't want to convince people to use it, they should do their own opinion about what they want and need.
Now I answer "I run something you don't want."
Some rough maths to calculate the cost of a new car with a 10 years life cycle. No fuel in the maths.
That costs 133€ / month + eventual car park if any.
If you think that buying a good quality bicycle or an electric bicycle for 3000 € is expensive, a car is a lot more expensive.
When it'll be time for my car, I don't think I'll buy a new one.
I only use it for long travels if no alternative, and renting one for a week is like 150€
My bike is enough for moving around in my city.
I wish you a great first World Backup Day! :flan_cheer:

The next 2 days, #bitreich community have its third annual conference: bitreichcon 2019.
If you are interested in it, visit gopher://bitreich.org/1/con/2019
I'll have a talk at 13h00 (GMT+2/CEST time) about "Simple solutions", and at 14h00, someone will have a talk about my deployment software "drist" (I can't wait to hear what it's about).
If you don't have any access to a #gopher client (it's sad), you can still read the page here https://gopherproxy.meulie.net/bitreich.org/1/con/2019
