@philcolbourn Nah, but people understand it subconsciously (if they didn't, they'd be unable to form sentences).

@philcolbourn They're sometimes more different from one another than English accents are. For example, nouns have three grammatical genders in most of the country, but only two if you speak posh Norwegian.

@philcolbourn Usually the linguists call them dialects, and that's also what we call them. I speak one of the northern dialects. You can often tell differences between two neighbouring counties. Hell, here in Oslo, they have two different sociolects they speak, depending on whether they are posh or not.

Considering how small Norway is and how little the government spends on defence, we make surprisingly many weapon systems.

@jeremiah For Norway, the geographic answer would be Trondheim. Whenever I hear about new tech coming out of Norway, it was invented in Trondheim.
For defense contracts, Kongsberg is the place to be.
Oslo is the center of the website, mobile app and enterprise space, I suspect. There is always work to be found here.

C99 designated initialisers would be a hell of a lot more useful of they also zeroed out any padding in the struct/array.

I've learned from experience that when people rant about things, you're rarely getting the whole story. It's best to just offer your sympathies.
