Some friends have just found out their kid is autistic (about nine years old). They've got a good attitude about it, I think - they're very aware of how many top scientists seen like they might be somewhere on the spectrum, of how much we value the work some satiric folks can do. They're doing their reading too, though the only name they've mentioned is Temple Grandin, who I think is not universally popular as a spokesperson. Any suggestions I could pass on?
Welcome to mastodon everyone! I love seeing all this art posted. But we do have some folks on here who don't see well, and they really appreciate it if you add a description to your images. Just briefly what you're showing people, so that they have some idea what they're looking for.
I know sometimes it seems like too much work, and if you can't you can't. But it does make your work accessible to more people, not least because more of us will boost it.
Remember particle beams from giant-robot fiction? Turns out we are actually quite good at making them. Hadron therapy is a thing - they zap you with proton beams because the protons stop and deposit most of their energy at a specific distance inside you, cooking your tumor while leaving the rest of you much less irradiated.

What do we mean when we say "toxic masculinity"?
I saw, and to my shame participated in, teaching these toxic aspects of masculinity as a teenager. It has left me very aware of their poisonous impact on our whole culture.
This comic explains in a very clear and heartbreaking way:
