    In an attempt to simply the terminology in the fediverse, I propose we start referring to "instances" as "neighborhoods". Here's a short pitch:

    Each neighborhood:
    * Has its own set of rules.
    * Has its own "guard" (sysadmin) that makes sure there are no incidents.
    * Is usually (but not always) focused on a common theme.

    You can send an update to:
    1. A specific person.
    2. Your own neighborhood.
    3. Entire network.

    IMO this proposal would make things about 30% easier to understand for newcomers.

    In a span of a month or two, I'm going to lose three friends, two of whom I've been close to for about 4 years. The thought of this makes me quite sad, but I guess it is something that I've have to see through.

    The population of vultures were decimated by 99.9% due to usage of diclofenac drug in cattle. Vultures eating cattle carcasses with diclofenac died from kidney failure.

    There was also a sad sight - a dead rotting cow. If this was 20 years ago, vultures would have eaten it ensuring a safe disposal. Now, it only encourages feral dogs who do not effectively dispose of the carcass and can spread diseases.

    After a long time did a cycling trip. Travelled 38km to Kallanai dam in the Cauvery river, while enjoying lush green farmland. Actually its the first time I could see endless farmland. In horrible drought of 2016 I remember that this farmland was mostly uncultivated.

    Very slow during daily commute, but may be useful for long trips.
    The buck converter I used to charge the phone is not designed for dynamo. I had a feature phone, which charged about 35% in a 38km trip. The feature phone claims to have a battery of 2500mAh. I don't know how good it will be with my smartphone having a battery of 3600mAh.

    The buck converter seems to pull down the voltage of the dynamo down during slow rides, resulting in loss of power. (Dynamo is more of a current source, while the buck converter is designed to operate with a voltage source).

    I assume that with some improvements, it can supplement power for a phone that is recording a gpx track.
