Ugh. This sort of censorship is *always* bad. No matter what side of an issue you stand on.

    https://t.co/tCdPdfT9fG

It doesn't matter if those accounts being deleted belong to Nazis, White Supremacists, Black Panthers, Hamas, The UN, or anyone else.

Individuals should feel free to ignore or block other accounts... But the communication infrastructure should be available to all.

This is a big reason why we should be promoting and using decentralized and federated messaging systems.

Next Tuesday, I'll be doing a "2018 Predictions" episode of the #LundukeShow.

As part of that I'd love to hear what your predictions are (specifically Tech/Computing predictions -- bonus points if they have something to do with Linux or Free Software).

Reply here so I see them. Include the odds you give this prediction of coming true (so we can check at the end of the year).

    Example:
"I predict, in 2018, someone will declare 2018 to be The Year of the Linux Desktop. Odds: 100%"

The "Software Freedom Law Center" has posted a blog post today where they propose a settlement with the Software Freedom Conservancy.

    https://www.softwarefreedom.org/blog/2017/dec/22/conservancy/ …

I lose an increasing amount of respect for Eben Moglen by the day.

    My opinion:

The SFLC should DROP this matter entirely and apologize to Conservancy, all projects that work with Conservancy, and the greater Free Software public. That is the only right course of action for an organization that truly cares about Free Software.

For those curious what the code looks like to use. Trying to keep it really simple to slap together TUI's with as few lines of code as possible.

Also making it so that it works with terminals of any character width/height. Because that's cool.

Doing a little putzing on my Text UI framework in FreeBASIC tonight. So far have "windows" and "labels" (with definable color styles). Next is "pictures" and "progressbars".

Doing all the coding in DOS, but it works in Linux exactly the same. Will post code soon. :)

One heck of a nice evening here. Son is sound asleep. Wife and daughter have been playing video games late into the night (the kiddo is off school for winter break).

I'm lounging in bed, watching the fishing channel and playing with various Linux-powered gadgetry.

Now time to finally zonk out. Thanks to everyone who is awesome. You know who you are. (And, if you're in doubt, you're awesome.)

@harriskenny I've been thinking about this a lot myself -- I think there's significant and important roles for many within the industry to play.

Gotta say, truly appreciate the reasonable, even approach you've taken. There's real value to the community there. Keep it up.

Not all companies and organizations do the right things.

But many of you do. Consistently.

We notice. We may not always speak up about it... but we notice. And we appreciate it.

Ooooh, this is cool. The Seiko UC-2000. A wrist-watch from the early 1980s. 4k of RAM. Can be programmed with BASIC. Full early 1980's computer on your arm.

Not gonna lie... Kinda want one.

The Antifa website "It's Going Down" deleted an article praising the Antifa action to sabotage the rail tracks in the general area where the Amtrak crash happened.

They proudly state "Concrete on the tracks is just a start".

They proudly encourage others to sabotage train tracks as well:

"This action and actions like it are quite easy to do yourself. This only took a few hours and a little bit of planning."

    Cowards and terrorists.
