I got an email from GitHub today that said they are locking me out of my account due to a suspicious login.

Well I guess that’s one more closed, proprietary, centralized system that saved me the trouble of deleting my account 😁

Good warning for social.coop “Designed or planned social order is necessarily schematic; it always ignores essential features of any real, functioning social order ... the simplified rules animating plans for, say, a city, a village or a collective farm were inadequate as a set of instructions for creating a functional social order, The formal scheme was parasitic on informal processes that, alone, it could not create or maintain.”

"I think the real test of #psychedelics is what you do with them when you're not on them, what kind of #culture you build, what kind of art, what kind of technologies... What's lacking in the Western mind is the sense of connectivity and relatedness to the rest of life, the atmosphere, the #ecosystem, the past, our children's future. If we were feeling those things we would not be practicing culture as we are."

@mayel I want to hug everyone on SocialCoop because you are so cool and I kinda want to help but I'm pretty happy with my instance and I'm not sure I can take more responsibilities beyond Tusky and I'm terrible sysadmin so I can only wish you all good luck!

Transferring my sysadmin responsibilities to a Tech Ops Team
      from Loomio
Hello social.coop! As has been discussed on several occasions, I think it is important that the sysadmin responsibilities be taken over by something like a Tech Ops Team, both for the health and sustainability of social.coop, and for my own sanity. Here's how you can help: If you have tech skills and time/interest to be involved, please join the Tech WG on Loomio (https://www.loomio.org/g/Mtb0FrvX/social-coop-tech-infrastructure-working-group) if you haven't already Reply to the post about Tech Ops Team: Responsibilities & Initial Documentation (https://www.loomio.org/d/V8AZunq0/tech-ops-team-responsibilities-initial-documentation) with any clarifying questions to help flesh out the documentation (hopefully @victormatekole will be able to transfer his knowledge about the setup as well). You can also view the document (https://cryptpad.fr/code/#/2/code/edit/n+GUQRCm4OZWgkfizNTkjjEp/embed/present/) directly. Help test/choose/setup a secure way to share passwords/keys (https://alternativeto.net/software/team-password-manager/?license=opensource&platform=self-hosted) Figure out how to organise the Tech Ops Team (there are already a few ongoing dicussions about this in various WG) Tell me who to provide access to (SSH to the servers, and accounts on various 3rd party services), and where to store the shared passwords/keys The Tech Ops Team starts handling the Responsibilities A through G. Profit! (i.e. make social.coop sustainable) I would really appreciate if everyone can pitch in so we can try and reach step 6 by the end of the month, as I've now taken on a new job, and really need to free up more of my time. Thank you!
