    I have branched off the 2023.03-rc branch from the current develop branch of the addon and core repository. This branch will become the next stable release in about two weeks if everything works out. Please everyone concentrate on fixing bugs and issues found while testing the RC branch. Bug fixes, translations and enhancements to the documentations are welcome to the RC branch.

    New features have to be added to the develop branch, but will only be part of the 2023.06 release in summer then.

    Am 4.3.2023 werde ich ab 18 Uhr einen Vortrag über das #Fediverse im Cafe Wostok in der Weitlingstraße 97 (#Berlin Lichtenberg) halten.

    Das Fediverse - Eine Einführung in die emanzipativen sozialen Netzwerke fern ab von Big Tech.

    In diesem Vortrag wird das Fediverse als Gegenentwurf zu den von Big-Tech dominierten Social Media Diensten vorgestellt. Welche Möglichkeiten bietet das dezentrale, emanzipativ selbstorganisierte Netzwerk als Alternative zum vom Überwachungskapitalismus getriebenen Diensten wie Twitter, Facebook und Instagram? Nach einem Einführungsvortrag ins Fediverse soll es einen Hands-On Teil geben um den Anwesenden die Möglichkeit zu geben vor Ort die ersten Schritte ins Fediverse zu unternehmen.

    Was mich damals(TM) überzeugt hat #FreieSoftware einzusetzen war der Aspekt der #Nachhaltigkeit - damals(TM) als Microsoft entschied, dass der 386SX nicht ausreichend Rechenkapazität hatte um damit Windows95 betreiben zu können.

    Anstatt den voll funktionierenden Rechner gegen einen neuen einzutauschen habe ich damals(TM) S.u.S.E. Linux installiert und den Computer noch ein paar Jahre länger benutzt und ihm erfolgreich dem Y2K-Test unterzogen, bevor es dann doch mal Zeit war einen neuen Rechner zu besorgen.

    Heute ist das Thema Nachhaltigkeit https://fsfe.org/freesoftware/sustainability/sustainability.de.html presenter denn je und auch heute kann Freie Software wesentlich dazu beitragen den Elektroschrottberg zu verkleinern. Sei das jetzt auf älteren Computern und Notebooks denen ein verlängertes Leben geschenkt wird oder bei Smartphones https://fsfe.org/activities/upcyclingandroid/upcyclingandroid.de.html die dank Freier Software länger mit Updates versorgt werden und so länger sicher eingesetzt werden können ohne sich alle paar Monate ein neues Telefon anzuschaffen.
