@xor the funny thing about ffmpeg is that of course we all complain about getting ffmpeg command lines wrong to the point where it's basically a meme but it honestly isn't becaue the syntax is bad or because it has bad defaults, it's because it does literally everything you could ever want it to do so there's pages upon pages of possible options in every combination

@codl that would be weird on a theoretical level wouldn’t it?

I mean all codecs rely on being able to predict one pixel from others (in space and time) and with truly random noise that is impossible (and even if you get lucky with one specific instance of the noise you just have to use a different one to eventually make the encoder cry)
