@whiskeykitten user tl stream as well as local tl stream. the former seems to just take a while presently, while the latter seems to just have hung (without me being able to tell)

oh is the problem maybe that I have a chunk size that is too high?

I am not sure why, but either the is_alive method does not seem to be working as intended or my restart-stream-if-dead watchdog is messing up
