@Cat if you're gonna go deep, mixxx is probably smart. There's a lot of video tutorials. My goal is to run my show completely from TTY, which is not-surprisingly difficult!

@cosine thanks so much! I've been 69% through learn you a Haskell for months. I'm trying Real World Haskell and Programming in Haskell now. I keep hitting a wall with IO

@tomasino well, i'm garbage at haskell, but sure! (i started project euler using haskell as a way to learn the language)

    here's what i have so far: https://github.com/CosineP/euler/blob/master/331.hs

    problem: https://projecteuler.net/problem=331

the code's ok, but it doesn't solve the problem correctly and it doesn't do it fast enough, so i'll have to go back to the drawing board

you can check out my, actual working solutions (all in haskell), in the rest of the repo: https://github.com/CosineP/euler

Really hoping I don't ruin these tortoises with the lacquer. I'm awful with lacquer and I don't understand why (these things are related). I've watched technique vids, read books; I should be good at this. We will see in the morning I guess

@Cat your life is astronomically rare and precious. An inconceivable number of rarities and statistical anomalies conspired to create your present shitty situation. You can cleave it in two with the smallest action and set it on the path of your choosing. Don't fear. Act boldly.

@cosine will you share code when done? I'm struggling with my Haskell learning and seeing your approach may help

      Squishy Turtle by jakejake
get a sneak peak on my latest works in progress on patreon Additional shell design stls available here. This 3d printed turtle uses the same flex concept from my Mini Monster Truck to create legs that allow the toy to bounce and scurry around when tapped. The head can also retract into the shell. Check out my process for designing this thing here The model assembles with the printed H-Clips and needs no glue. The parts print without the need for supports. If you are interested in my design process and latest 3d printing experiments, check out my website and my Twitter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YMq4T2ZYYQ&feature=youtu.be 1fQi4dO1prnjXr39rZPYfA+DRmnLvrtjF/Kk7N7JbSMn75r5PkDlyWWg8HoGum7l2 YoVxy1t9e2q76JUZKMYHA==== This design will probably not work with a brim unless you spend time sanding and cleaning up the edges at the base of the print. This will stick the springs together and make the center channel for the head narrower. Using a raft might also affect this. If you are having trouble with the head sliding, I have uploaded 3 head files with the stem portion scaled to be narrower: Head95.stl - 95% original width Head9.stl - 90% original width Head85.stl - 85% original width

@6gain I use a phone app to rate my cables and add an ampage rating to each with my label maker. It didn't matter much to people charging phones overnight from their wall socket, but in solar it's everything! Great post.

Okay, #python people. I've been reading about #virtualenv and I totally get it in the context of development. What I don't get is distribution. If I finish building a command line app in python and want to share it, would everyone that wants to use it have to set up a virtualenv on their end to do so? And what about in context of a cron job? Is it normal to script a wrapper that launches it in virtualenv context? What am I missing here?
