Please be cautious about cross-posting from Twitter. I've been using Mastodon and Twitter both for more than 6 months now, and Mastodon is far less distressing to me. (Other ppl say the same.)
When people cross-post from Twitter without CWs (especially RTs), it starts making Mastodon feel like Twitter.
I don't crosspost, so I don't know what the considerations are, but if you could either crosspost from Mastodon to Twitter, or CW all your crossposts, it would be a huge help.
German radio has been hyping up "Dinner for One" for at least five minutes now.
("Dinner for One" is an old black and white UK TV show, in English, that Germans love to watch every year. It airs multiple times. It's available in color too, but that's not the particular "proper" black and white version that is insisted upon.)
@theoutrider You're not the only one. I do programming at times too, even though I'm a designer.
(I went to school for CS + Art double major and was always a computer nerd. However, due to the USA being really crappy & my university being corrupt, I never got my diploma as they basically "lost" all my records after 3.5 years and wanted me to retake everything from the beginning.
Instead, I moved to California and went to work.
Experience & willingness to learn beats a piece of paper anyway.)
"Not having to look up stuff" is NOT the benchmark for a good coder, especially as coders have to look up stuff ALL THE TIME!
And I don't mean highly advanced stuff, but stuff like "How does division work again?" or "What's that function called?" or my personal favorite "How to I nest for loops in list comprehensions?".
