Screenshots from in-development version of Alone in the Dark made in April of 1992 for the French gaming press. The protagonist's head was mocked up using Deluxe Paint because the planned (and eventually abandoned) voxel face technology wasn't ready yet.

Many other things clearly point to developers' first language not being English. Examples: LET instead of LEAVE, and ABANDON instead of QUIT.

No background art yet, and image frame tag says "Cthulhu" instead of "In the Dark". Note the difference in text - "repo men" vs "receivers" -
