RISE Project, an OCCRP’s partner, was ordered Thursday by the Romanian Data Protection Authority (ANSPDCP) to reveal its sources under the threat of a fine of up to €20 million based on the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation.

RISE Project and its journalists are currently documenting a case relating to the theft of EU funds by the highest political echelons of Romanian politics.

Google has recently started automatically importing information from Google+ profiles into the contacts app on android (Google Contacts) based searching for accounts tied to that phone number. This information is comprehensive and can't be deleted by the user.

If you have an old Google+ profile laying around from pre-transition, then any old emails etc. containing your dead name might have been imported into the contacts of everyone who has your phone number for any reason

That currency is just an abstraction of the value of future exchange is well known,
but that is often neglect is what this means,
that it is therefore an abstraction of trust, the trust of the currency be exchangeable for goods or services at a future time.

Trust does not per se require currency,
but can be a trust that a society has agreed that all basic needs will be fulfilled for example.
In today's world, the basic needs of every person can be fulfilled many times over.
Currencies are an unnecessary abstraction, which only intrinsically enables hoarding and thus disables the basic needs of every person to be met but instead have those needs be literally dumped for incineration.
It could easily be replaced by a database of needs which by its existence could also help predict future trends.

An exceptional encounter I had during Occupy Stockholm was a person that came by and told me,
its hobby was going around town looking for long time empty apartments,
which it would then open and for no benefit of its own just hand over to homeless people, because...
people need places to live and that it was unacceptable for landlords to keep apartments empty just to drive up prices.
