Pavel states that telegram is opensource, while it's actually *not*.
It's such an open and shameless lie, that one should ask, where else does he lie to me?
''In 2005, Pavel completed his training at the Faculty of Military Studies of St. Petersburg State University with a specialization in Propaganda and Psychological Warfare. While training with the Faculty of Military Studies, he served as Platoon Commander of the Philology Department. Upon completion, he was awarded the title of Lieutenant of the Reserve Force. Immediately after graduating in 2006, Pavel created the social network Vkontakte.ru'' https://web.archive.org/web/20121102101035/http://www.dld-conference.com/speakers/digital-business/pavel-durov_aid_3087.html
@dtluna to have effectice social change towards what one is wishing for, several strategies need to take place at the same time. protest alone does not work, for shure.
@freakazoid@Gorio@semente I think there are many people that do understand the issue but don't care so much cause of not havin it connected to emotions.
@b3yond I think it's worth as it is likely to also be a 'first contact' with anarchism for some folks. On the same it might be usefull to move ppl away from reddit. But I don't know about federating news aggregation.
Dystopia of near future: virtual reality games that changes the story and the experience of the game while playn through artificial intelligence based on what behaviours the ruling class wants to stimulate. Individual targeting made through collected data from mass #surveillance.
@paulfree14@aral Interestingly enough, their fix for the Cambridge Analytica issue broke my own scripts and restricted developers from access to their own data via the API:
Furthermore, I think there was a deeper message with that entire #deletefacebook campaign, and the scary thing should be that it failed. Facebook proved to big media that no one gives a shit:
Only by providing a counter-narrative, which also deals with the constant burning future shock people are feeling - we can make other perspectives and futures possible.
If you won't create a narrative explaining why you did something, someone else will supply theirs.
No matter how good the software created by the engineers is, no matter how much work the activists put in, the public needs storytellers to tell them why it's important as well.
@dansup I think that's comming from the federation aspect. New pieces of software are supporting the hole. So instead of unhealthy concurrence between the plattforms ppl support each other. I don't use pixelfed, but shure I spread the word to those that are looking for something similar then Instagram.
Even making, a middle ground between the hackers and the general public is using very entrepreneur-ed language, leading people to think in terms of companies and growth hacking instead of communities and infrastructure. With the MakerFaires all over the world, how will they change the local cultures, which don't have tech independence traditions as strong as Germany? Will they have any other way to perceive modern technology than the startups, Blockchain and phone apps?
@AndStatus thanks, but the source you linked sounds kind of incompatible with the way mastodon handles it. (sry. if that's wrong, I just had a very short look at it)
"Of course some man fear that women fight back and want the same rights as man do, cause if women take exactly the same rights as man instead of fighting hierarchies they wouldn't just have the right of integrity of their mind\souls\body and freedom, they would take the right to oppress and consume somebody cause of a body they didn't choose. That's the reason why some man fear feminists. The fear [from that way of being] threaten is a mirror for their behavior." 2\2
