you're thinking like choose your own adventure? No it's more like these are the rules that govern the fictional world, like in games.

Loosely, it's a scifi/fantasy genre where stories largely take place in a rpg type game world with quests and leveling.

Some people are super rigid about the definition, like God of Gnomes wouldn't fit their definition because it's more RTS based than RPG and the main character isn't a player in a game - this is their actual world that has game mechanics.

#amreading a #litrpg novel called God of Gnomes.

I'm really enjoying it, but also I feel like it's one of those novels where I have to be selective in who I rec it to because a) the main character is a rock and b) approximately the first 25% is the rock going through an interface & game world mechanics tutorial conducted by a sprite.

Not a lot of people can appreciate a book like that.

But it has a giant spider named Binky! 🕷️🕷️🕷️ ❤️❤️❤️

They're both very fun imo

There's also Rubber, which is not exactly fun, but is the most wtf pretentious movie I've ever seen about a killer tire. (And should not be confused with Killer Condoms, which is a totally different flick.)
