I haven't seen any slugs this year. I think the heat plus drought maybe wasn't good for them. Kind of bummed because seeing slugs is something I look forward to in summer

Also leopard #slugs are omnivores. They like to eat mushrooms (probably why that #slug in my last post was sitting on that mushroom) and lichen. They don't usually bother your garden unless they're overpopulated... but guess what else they eat?

Now Arion vulgaris are also probably fine and useful citizens in their niche, and they're fun to watch, but as an invasive species, they can cause some issues. They're also super cute too... look at that little face!

And also super interesting. They are hermaphrodites and when they have sex, they hang in the air suspended by mucus, kind of like a slug sex swing and they have giant blue penises as big as their whole bodies!
