can't use ifup to getting networking to work. there is something called wickedd. I can get it to populated resolv.conf with some stuff, but still isn't working.
The likelihood that we get our shit together and actually do it is pretty low. It is really going to depend on how bad things get. There was lots of anti-Asian sentiment early in the year in large part due to Darth Cheeto. We are mostly insulated from that sort of stuff in Minneapolis. Maybe things will stay that way, but I don't want to get to a place where we need to leave and we haven't even thought about it.
We are thinking of leaving the United Shithole of America, and my wife says #NewZealand would be an easy place for her to transfer. Apparently, Canada is difficult.
Anyway, I jokingly told my wife we'd have to learn the haka and she said that was racist. I showed her the video of the rugby team, but just because they did it doesn't make it not racist.

lnxw48a1Statues: I have been to Mississippi and seen Confederate monuments "Dedicated to the men who fought for our freedom" on courthouse lawns. So, no, leaving particularly egregious statues in places of honor is not acceptable. Yet, those people and their acts are part of our history, and I do not want us to forget them. . I don't have a full solution, but moving some statues to museums, and putting statues of less horrid people and events up next to others is a better way forward than either leaving all the statues in place or toppling and beheading them. . While most of the US is distracted by statues, two Black men were found hanging in #SoCal. One on 2020-05-31 near the Victorville library, and one 2020-06-10 near the Palmdale city hall. In both cases, Sheriff's deputies quickly said "suicide" ... but in #Los_Angeles County, a member of the Board of Supervisors has asked the California Attorney General to investigate. As far as I know, #San_Bernardino County has not asked for a light to be shined on their own potential lynching.
"Overall time limits vary for each brevet according to the distance. These are: (in hours and minutes, HH:MM) 13:30 for 200 KM, 20:00 for 300 KM, 27:00 for 400 KM, 40:00 for 600 KM, and 75:00 for 1000 KM."
I guess we will see how Saturday's 200k treats me.
My advice: use some common sense. Wash your hands frequently, keep space between you and others, and wear a mask. Masks are nowhere near foolproof, but at the very least, they can help thin out the number of virus-laden droplets people send out into the air.
