@kunev i think that's a great comparison. it is indeed becoming very necessary to understand at least the fundamentals of how the internet (perhaps even computing more generally) works. the literacy off loading you speak of, that happens even inside the tech world, is a huge problem. teaching people to care about networks, data ownership, and the consequences of our increasingly digital world is going to be a very hard problem to solve though

@kunev you are correct, it isn't *entirely* a tech problem, and tech alone cannot solve the problem. however, better "implementations" of the internet can lessen the amount of technical details that laymen are required to understand. that being said, i think the future will be technical and we should have systems set up to teach people these technicalities
