sadly, that website your recommend doesn't pass even the most fundamental accessibility requirement (that's a building block for most other accessibility features): graceful degradation when javascript is not available.

the GPL establishes requirements that prevents you from gaining power over others through the software. but again, that's about power, not freedom.

you can still place the software at your service to whatever ends you wish, inasmuchas those wishes are within your own freedom, rather than about overpowering others

I acknowledge that some wish to conflate freedom and power, and to gain power over others. the GPL is not conducive of this kind of abusive relationship.

you're talking past each other over an overloaded term. focus on concepts, not labels, is my advice.

I find it's problematic to insist that there's one true definition of such long-standing and changing terms. socialism preexisted communism, and marx wrote against socialism. later on, socialism was adopted as the term for the intermediate transitional state from capitalism to communism. then it was bombarded by propaganda and became associated in some places with anything that vaguely resembles questioning of neoliberal exploitation practices. it's little use to insist any of these is "more right" than the other when the other party in the conversation is just as convinced because teachers and people around them have traditionally used that word with that meaning. it's challenging to dig deeper into what each party means by such overloaded terms, but it usually leads to deeper, more productive interactions, instead of heat and impasses.

freedom is control over one's own life, and GPL gives you that as much as the most permissive license

what you appear to be mislabeling as freedom is power over others. nobody deserves that, and the GPL doesn't offer you any of that. other licenses grant such powers along with freedoms, but ideally licensees won't use them. those are not desirable, they're not freedoms, they're the opposite of freedoms.

I've responded about your dated and obsolete experience with Ring on the other thread

now, is matrix even end-to-end encrypted? I don't think so, so I didn't mention it in a conversation that was primarily focused on keeping information away from unintended eyes. if it does, maybe it belongs, but I find that Matrix shares far too much information with its servers, and more so with its central server, so I'm not at all comfortable recommending it to people who are trying to minimize their online tracks.

you should really give it another try, using a current version. all of your five points applied at some (very early) points in Jami's history, but assuming they reflect its current status is just spreading FUD. it's no different from insisting that computers are giant, slow, building-sized pieces of equipment that nobody could carry around.

FWIW, I have zero direct experience with its mobile apps, I don't even carry a tracking device. I find the Qt-based app on GNU/Linux-libre pretty decent, though I'm not so fond of GUIs that attempt to emulate attention-grabbing anti-patterns.

    • 0: 1 possibilidade (0,0)
    • 1: 2 possibilidades (1,0), (0,1)
    • 2: 3 possibilidades (2,0), (1,1), (0,2)
    • 3: 4 possibilidades (3,0), (2,1), (1,2), (0,3)
    • 4: 5 possibilidades (4,0), (3,1), (2,2), (1,3), (0,4)
    • 5: 6 possibilidades (5,0), (4,1), (3,2), (2,3), (1,4), (0,5)
    • 6: 5 possibilidades (5,1), (4,2), (3,3), (2,4), (1,5)
    • 7: 4 possibilidades (5,2), (4,3), (3,4), (2,5)
    • 8: 3 possibilidades (5,3), (4,4), (3,5)
    • 9: 2 possibilidades (5,4), (4,5)
    • 10: 1 possibilidade (5,5)
    Mas o que importa não é a soma, é só a paridade.

    • Ímpar: 2+4+6+4+2 = 18
    • par: 1+3+5+5+3+1 = 18
