I remember when WiFi routers had one antenna, two if they were fancy...

@coldacid okay... linear or not, even 15 minutes is way too long. Heck, 5 minutes would be too long.

@coldacid It took 15 minutes to reach 25%. If it's linear, the whole thing took an hour (had to join a meeting, so not sure what it actually was). Even with a slow spinning disk, that's unacceptably slow.

Might be that during the update, they need to download the entire universe. Being in China, that may take a while (though I can't fathom why they wouldn't download everything in the background, *before* starting on the update).

@Wookhash @irritable I wish I could, but you know, big corporations and their policies... 😡 I would immediately be quarantined from the network.

@yukiame And it seems to be getting worse with every release... Not to mention the blue screens or even spurious restarts.

@irritable I haven't run windows privately for 15+ years, but unfortunately my boss thinks otherwise. The worst part is, I'm only using Windows to run some office applications, everything else I do in a VM.

I've got a beast of a laptop, with 32GB memory and one of the latest Xeon processors. Why is this still taking forever to update? Why do I still need to restart *multiple* times just to install update? What is this, 1998?
