@DaDenMan You think *that* is concerning? How about: https://www.engadget.com/2019/05/10/bmw-carplay-outage/
Parts of your car stop working because one of the licensing servers was not available. Sure, this time it was only Apple CarPlay, but if this continues, next time it might be your brakes...
@adam Re: DJI phoning home
This is one of the most beautiful one-two punches I've seen in a long time.
Years ago, DJI *didn't* phone home, but they were required by the Americans to do so, in order to comply with temporary no-fly-zones for drones. I.e. some local government would organize a festival and institute a temporary ban on drones for security reasons.
And now DJI is being chastised for complying with the law, because "chinaman bad".
"U.S. not seeking war with Iran, says top defense official"
When the U.S. is "not seeking war", run for the hills!

"China's 'big three' State-run airlines ask Boeing for compensation"
Boeing is not going to like that... If I were them, I'd probably write off the "737" model completely. I've heard from several people already they will choose a different flight if they see any 737 model, regardless of which variant it is.

I was looking in to some office network issues here in Beijing, and the morons are actually using an upstream DNS without going through a VPN...
It's well known the Chinese Firewall poison DNS, but I had never looked in to what they're actually poisoning it with. I've got to applaud them for their creativity though!
It looks like they're basically pointing Google properties to Facebook IP addresses, Facebook properties to Twitter, etc.
At least those guys can handle the extra traffic :)

Hmm... Twitter won't kick Trump off their platform, so Google does it fit them?

Can't be sure, but that sounds rather uncomfortable...
Might work with @adam as well 🤭

"Yesterday, the German 'Business Daily' reported that the German government hopes to avoid excluding Huawei’s products from the country’s 5G network construction plan."
Cautiously worded, but glad the Germans are thinking for themselves, instead of acting as American lapdogs.

Don't worry, investors. They'll make the next iPhone even more brittle, so the losses in sales can be made up by the after sales service.
The next phones will probably be made out of crystal.
