the issue with 3rd party client is that, they are just as greedy and ruthless. It's a game between twitter and them. Twitter want them to promote twitter, meanwhile tries to control and keep all money.

over past 10 years, the game has evolved with anger on lots sides, just like spammers and search engine and scam or fake news sites.

note those towels. That's best wrist pad. They need to be high, like 4cm or 1.5 inch. They are also cheap, like $2, and can be washed.

one thing annoying about @brave browser is that it does not block twitter promoted tweet. perhaps due to no way to technically detect it as ad, which is sinister by twitter

of my personal comp sci growth roadmap, there's few thnigs i like to horn. In no particular order:

① get experience in writing a compiler.
② understand what features make language slow.
③ understand the relation of various kind of strict type to its computability
④ understand what language features allow what degree of static analyis
⑤ a grip on proof systems, computability theory, math foundation

it's not in Chinese as common term.
and from that Japanese gate, that's not karma neither. So i suppose Japanese is also using the chinese concept yuan.

缘分 yuanfen means:

together by destiny
natural affinity to be together
fortuity, that binds people together

Note the word “karma” and “reincarnation” used. If you are a nerd hipster, you probably knew what it means. But to most English speakers, it's a blank.

It fact, the actual word used is 缘分 (“yuanfen” in English), and Chinese language colloquial usage actually don't have or use the word “karma”.

If you are a Chinese, you would hear and use word 缘分 yuanfen, several times a month, thru out your life. It's a Chinese folk concept tied to bddhism and taoism. It is applied to relationships.

here's a more literal translation:

you don't want to learn yangqin anymore
but what you say doesn't count

why?

because it guided you to the world
together for 11 years
it's your karma
now you don't want him anymore
but he has feelings for you

talk to him.
if he agrees, no need to tell mom
mom won't object

when doing translations, there's a tricky business. There's literal translation, and at the other extreme is translation by the intended meaning, which may have NOTHING to do with the words uttered. (called “pragmatics” in linguistics)

In most “good” translations, eg big movie's subtitle, the latter is done. By that, you can readily enjoy foreign films, but you are completely robbed from seeing how Chinese say things, and any cultural references are necessarily removed.
