@roko @sulman @moonman They gave up bumpstocks fairly easily. That in and of itself might seem like nothing (and as individual items, nobody really took them seriously) however the fear is that it opens the door for wiggle room on what defines a semi-automatic weapon, which is very worrying.

@roko @sulman @moonman They describe themselves as advocacy. In fact, they have compromised on some rights, but they're actually pretty decent. The debate about 2a and who represents it best is pretty ferocious in itself.

@cereal @sulman @moonman @roko I think the worst of it is the lack of respect for complexity. Twitter is so bad for this. These are hugely difficult problems, the last people that can solve them are comedy writers and teenagers.

@moonman It's the first time I've heard such a narrative be attempted. Historically it's quite the opposite - it's gun control that has been used to limit access to weapons to the persecuted and oppressed.

@augustus I think it's much ado about nothing, but it does reveal some interesting things about Corbyn's character. The tepid attitude towards Russia is another. I don't think it's unfair to stay he's stuck in the 80s.
