In Op. 20 #2, the second movement is a mashup of recitative and fantasia where you never know what will come next.

In Op. 20 #4, I challenge you to find the downbeat in the third movement.

@mrgah @ajroach42 Beethoven’s string quartets are something else: at every point in his career, what he was doing in the quartets was farther out than in his symphonies.

There’s also an appealing mad-scientist quality to some of the music in Haydn’s early quartets.

I’m so out of touch, I hadn’t seen the word used as a noun before!

For what — a month? — now, the cool kids around here have been setting off words with #colons — I mean :colons: — and I still haven’t figured out what it means.

I thought I’d just decode it eventually, but evidently not. So please, someone, what does colon-wrapping mean?

Of course there’s a restaurant called this in #Williamsburg. There always was going to be one, and now there is one.
