@MochiWaifu and yeah lots of ppl I know love FCPX but I honestly kinda love Premiere's more down to earth no-frills UI (same with Ableton and why I use it over Logic)

@MochiWaifu It's just super CPU (and therefore battery) heavy for me compared to chrome? Esp. when I'm doing anything that tries playing video

@MochiWaifu I'd say fuck it and just use Safari on macOS but I kinda need FF sync as long as I still use my Win8.1 install

@MochiWaifu I kinda do miss chrome sometimes tho... FF still isn't quite there performance/cpu load wise.

@MochiWaifu I, uh... found a copy of FCPX that fell off a truck and I'm gonna maybe start using it over Premiere bc it's apparently muuuuch more optimized but idk if I have the spoons to switch bc I'm proficient enough for my needs in Premiere, so...

Also, yeah, FF! I switched a couple of months ago in an attempt to de-google my life as much as possible (and also bc they released the horrible chrome redesign at that point)

@MochiWaifu esp because the only software that actually does anything smart with it is apple's own stuff which I don't rly use all that much (i use firefox over safari, ableton over logic, premiere over fcpx, etc.)

the only thing (besides #donglelife) im kinda "eh" about so far is the touchbar... like, i don't mind it (and the lack of a physical esc key doesn't rly bother me) but I also wouldn't miss it if I wasn't there

@MochiWaifu anyway, my first half a week or so with it has been great, esp performance wise (this is my first i7 machine)

Haven't rly tested the GPU yet but it runs synesthesia (the software I use for live visuals) at 1080p@60 which is p much all I was hoping for hahah

@MochiWaifu I think they changed them with the retina MacBook pros (the ones that had no optical drive and were thinner)

@MochiWaifu both were p darn good tho tbh

@MochiWaifu hmmm I'm trying to remember which ones those were bc they've changed keys on the unibody ones before (my 2008 one has different keys with more travel than my 2015 one)
