@dolus yuduki at aria dot company would be your best bet at finding hakui. As for only discussing and/or inserting myself in discussions about things I'd like to find interest in, I'm already taking steps to do so.
I didn't see this response until it was pointed out to me. I appreciate you telling me.
@dolus Maybe it was a sign of things to come. We now have a federated platform with instances that pride themselves on being 'anti-capitalist' while their lord and saviour, Eugen, takes donations from the EU.
@dolus It could be changed which was the most important thing. I didn't like the default text about 'capitalist services' either as if it even needed to be brought up.
@nepfag IIRC Qvitter extended the API to allow for extra functionality. I do agree that GS underneath was a shitshow in the way it handled itself and if it should ever survive then it needs to fix the maintainability burdens first before adding new features.
@dolus The person in question didn't understand federation so I think it was his ignorance to the concept that led him to that somewhat incorrect conclusion.
Also, I think Qvitter did help to make GNU Social more accessible to those with a feeling of nostalgia (like myself) despite its bugs. Development of GS is still active. @moonman@nepfag@roka@yuduki
@dolus Only difference is trying to bring it up will have people like ‘how old is that’ and ‘isn’t that dead’. Someone once told me GNU Social was ‘doomed to fail’ but look at us (and them) now.
@guizzy My assessment is indeed harsh but justified because of the length of time it spans and how it relates to the instance I was on before. Smugloli was my home until I was a victim of unspoken rules highlighting my actions that were out of the ordinary.
I must take some of the blame, else it may continue without accountability.
