@rosen i last used one a few years ago. it was a really bad experience as the tablet is really designed for content consumption rather than productivity
the touchscreen is imprecise and has latency, and the OS is locked down to the extent that it's really,,,, not usable for much imo
like the weirdest shit doesn't show up in the amazon app store

specifically i have a perfectly good 4690k which miraculous silicon quality, overclocks very well and very good thermal characteristics, but it's in such a huge machine that it's no longer useful to me
i want to build a mini-itx system with it and my 1080 but i can't find a decent mini itx board for less than $300
i'm happy to forgoe overclocking, i just want it to be useful again

this is probably a long shot but if anyone has a mini itx motherboard with any of the following chipsets i would be happy to buy it off of you
B85, H81, H87, H97, Q85, Q87, Z87, or Z97
These boards would be from 2013 to early 2017. I'm looking to use it with a 4th generation CPU, the 4690k.

.... hmm. need to sit back for a second and think about how the player will actually go about giving commands here
ideally one wouldn't usually have to tell units exactly where to go but rather stuff like "3 defend 1", "3 attack 10", et cetera
also: can i differentiate friendly ids from enemy ids purely by verb?
"friendly attack enemy" / "friendly defend friendly" is obvious but "friendly rendezvous friendly" would need to be paired with something
"friendly intercept enemy" i guess
"info friendly", hmm

@IzzyWithAnIzze This is certainly no endorsement of Microsoft's approach, which is "yeah you can do it but fuck you if you want to know how".
The whole point of the thread is, as I've maintained for a while, that we should trust the users and give them the information they need to work with the systems we build, rather than child-proofing everything and providing only the barest hint at documentation.
Windows and Linux ain't there, but Mac OS certainly isn't either.

@IzzyWithAnIzze That's at least been my experience! There's plenty of stuff on my "other UNIX" environments that I simply can't do on Mac OS, and tons of thing that are unnecessarily complex.
This opinion isn't one I've revisited in a while so things might have changed, but when I was regularly teaching programming classes to middle- and high-school kids, we gave up on installing Python 3 on Mac OS X (at the time) and had them just use repl.it because it was so locked down.

Merry telling Treebeard with all his passion that the ents are part of the world and they can’t just ignore the war and live their sheltered life is antifascists telling libs about the current situation, same energy

I am so glad we don't write code in English, heck.

so hey y'all
my younger sib just came out to me as probs not a boy; anyone got any resources on like basic gender exploration stuff? i barely remember how i did it, and really couldn't under my parents noses - they're under a lot of scrutiny too, so stuff like websites rather than books is preferred
