@gewt yeah!

i only tweaked two things:

- turn off smart borders because i like to waste screen space
- don't use st anymore (second screenshot) because i'm ideologically opposed to suckless and also it... sucks.... more... than sakura

a lot of the value isn't clear in these screens because it comes from the very good GTK theme and the fact that everything is integrated with the GNOME 3 utilities and stuff (and a very good rofi config)

so, it's an i3 desktop with actual usb automount, wireless, et cetera

@gewt in this case, i'm using i3-gaps with the configs and associated utilities provided by Regolith

it's extremely streamlined and pretty and they basically removed a lot of the annoying stuff about i3 (i mean, they just don't bind anything to the commands)

today was an extremely good day in a lot of ways

- played a little Minecraft
- wrote a little bit of code that does a lot of things
- understood some type theory stuff I had missed before
- went swimming and hung out in the hot tub

so I love #Rust a lot
but, however
the difference between TupleVariant and TupleVariant() should not cause pattern matching to fail and I'm not sure why it does 💽

@brainblasted it's a like, ten line shell script written by @unascribed that lets you post from the command line and that's it

useful because it means i can still post stuff without getting distracted

@dmoonfire I'm currently using Regolith Linux (i3-gaps, easily the prettiest and most well known tiling wm, plus a great GNOME 3 theme and sensible defaults) which is available as a Ubuntu PPA or a standalone Ubuntu spin.

Regolith is a good desktop environment so far

It's nice to be back on i3, and kind of amazing how much my muscle memory is still there (which doesn't help since it was all custom)

gonna try out regolith

like listen i love this stuff but like

don't come at me with fake fantasy physics about why hyperspace rams don't work or whatever

especially the new canon - they threw out the Legends stuff that actually started to give the Force and the wacky semi-newtonian physics some rules
