"Fairphone 2 is the first and only Snapdragon 801 phone to get Android Nougat" "The Fairphone 2 was released all the way back in 2015 with Android Lollipop. [...] Back in 2016, Qualcomm announced it would not be providing support for the Snapdragon 801 on Android 7.0 Nougat. [...] Fairphone says they have spent around β¬500,000 to implement this update. They had to do their own development for the unsupported chip. And all that work is for only around 100,000 phones." https://www.xda-developers.com/fairphone-2-android-nougat-update/
Time to carry on with Spyro, a lovely fun game which is very laid-back and by no means any kind of source of frustration, which I'm sure will continue to be the case now that I'm in the... *checks notes* oooh. The Tree Tops.
For new #pinebook owners interested, I am running the 0.7.28 build of ayufan's Ubuntu bionic image with LXDE and have wifi/sound/opengl working, so if you go that route and hit any snags, give me a yell.
(note: there are newer builds. they have issues - 0.7.28 is the newest that didn't give me a hard time. consider ayufan builds to be experimental quality, not polished releases.)
@00dani@garbados@eryn@Efi oh, my version backgrounds the rm so it happens in parallel with ls :p so you might notice a few things missing depending on the size of the dir. tricky thing about putting the ls first in an alias is, you still want it to get the parameters passed to ls. we might be in the territory of making it a proper bash function instead
In an earlier thread, I wrote briefly about trans people in medieval Europe, and discussed some of the main issues when studying the medieval history of trans people.
Today, if you'll indulge me, I want to spend some time discussing a single person in detail. I want to talk about the way she's been written about, and about her and what she can teach us about life as a trans person 600 years ago.
@Doggo this is definitely tipping the scales of me getting back into it :] i'd fallen off the bandwagon once we lost Matt Smith because I had been holding out hope that he would outlast Moffat, lol
