    @CobaltVelvet Nice one. Is the default "a look inside" timeline the federated one for the instance? Wouldn't it make more sense to have the local timeline for "a look inside", especially for this instance?

    #fixmystuff Located in West End, Brisbane, Australia, I have a small amount of tools that I am happy to share, and some knowledge about computers. I have fixed many pushbikes, an old printer and many screens that just needed a capacitor replacement. I know there is a #repairCafe happening monthly at Turnstyles but I haven't gotten around to checking it out yet.

    That's for everyone different. So it's up to you to define what content you like to share with the local/federated timeline

    'unlisted' will make your post be visable for everyone as public does except that it will be hidden in the local/federated timeline

    If you ever though those timelines are anyway not great to view at, then let's use 'unlisted' more

    This is a point I like to make.

    The tabloid papers often go on about benefit fraud or scroungers, or those claimed by immigrants.

    Sadly I hear this kind of stuff parroted by some of my friends.

    But the total money spent on **all benefits** most of which is pensions, is completely dwarfed by tax evasion and avoidance.

    For some reason youu don't hear that in the billionaire owned media.

    The instance I am on, mastodon.indie.host, is an #under1000 instance open to subscribers of the Indie Hosters service. That freedom- and privacy-respecting cloud host is run by a tiny team of great people passionate about Libre software and keeping your data safe and private. I am a proud subscriber.

    I reckon we're four people on this instance, so weeeeell below 1000 :) - but still connected to the rest of the beautiful Fediverse!
