@jeroenpraat @paulfree14 actually, that's not true (unless that's specific to the app I am using, Amarok?). I saw many replies I wrote that were automatically set to public, when replying to other people's toots.

A few days ago, I was mapping for #OSM in my neighbourhood. People usually ask me about what I am doing because they are suspicious. But that time, this elderly couple wasn't suspicious. They didn't even ask about the mapping. They were curious about the #StPauli tote bag I was carrying, and the man who was doing the talking seemed to be genuinely interested, with a big kind smile on his face. The other man just listened. They asked me where I lived, they told me where they lived. #smallstories

We can't expect #Facebook to self-regulate and not be a threat to democracy.

My federated timeline is veeeery similar to my home timeline, and shows a small volume of toots. (i.e. One every few minutes.)
Is that because my instance is tiny and therefore isn't connected to much of the fediverse? #question #mastodon
