#Holocaust surviver Philipp Sonntag gave a speech at #stopptdenhass outside the Bundestag building and confirmed from living memory that statements made by AFD today are indistuingishable from those of the NSDAP in the 1930s

@NerdResa The worst bug reports I get about wifi issues are ones which are full of guesses based on externally observed behaviour (packet loss, stalled connections etc.) but no facts.
The best ones don't try to explain anything, narrow down circumstances for independent reproduction of the problem, and have packet traces attached (ideally with mgmt and ctrl frames).
Very good ones are rare since unfortunately they require lots of time and expertise to create 😕

@seanl OK. so the answer to stat overhead seems to be: Don't use stat, use something like inotify or kqueue, i.e. file change detection driven by filesystem events reported to userspace.

@wezm We want quality contributions and those don't come from high numbers..I understand tapping into github's userbase to enlarge the pool of potential contributors seems tempting, but keep in mind what this implies: You're essentially expecting github to build a community for you on your behalf, so you can grow faster.
The real solution is long-term community building on independent infrastructure. It doesn't grow by accretion. Success is measured in turnover of people who stay around.

@mike @lattera @wezm Let's see... so to review a diff someone wants me to look at, do I want to rely on email with its great interop, client diversity, accessibility, and inherently independent infrastructure, or do I want my naturally insecure web browser to visit a javescript-heavy social network for git users only, which runs on a giant cluster of computers owned by a for-profit corporation...?
I do have friends who work at github, BTW. But I am sticking with email for diffs, thanks.

Hey fellow sufferers! I've been suffering constant tinnitus for almost 20 years. I was exposed to a PA system which accidentally got put on too high volume. Luckily my tinnitus gets drowned out by background noise most of the time. But loud noise has felt more painful in my ears ever since. I absolutely hate sirens from ambulances and such.
Don't forget to wear your earplugs everybody!

Saw this bunch of Californians playing live tonight. It was rad.

Their recordings sound relatively relaxed. They came across more heavy playing live. Both nice.
Threw a couple 10 Euro bills into the band's donation bucket and got "Cult Country" on CD 💿 :)

Bugs show up everywhere:

This is a full disclosure of a 4 byte stack overwrite in GNU ghostscript 9.07.
Though perhaps I should have sat on it for 4 months, and registered a domain first? How does ghostsmash.com sound?

As #OpenBSD's de-facto wifi maintainer, I first learned about this WPA problem in June. A simple patch was provided which I could commit with slight modifications.
The original embargo was already 2 months long, and then extended again for 2 months.
The generall public (you) were left in the dark about this for at least 4 months.
This is a very sad state of affairs. It takes the industry much too long to apply a simple patch.
