EFF's Director of Cybersecurity, @evacide, tells @Glamour: "When you give in to privacy nihilism, and decide that you're not going to do anything, you've let the government win already."
I actively avoided the internet for a while due to the amount of comments talking about how Stephen Hawking is now free "wherever he is" because he doesn't have to live in a wheelchair anymore.
I saw a person also in a wheelchair answering one of those saying their idea of heaven is one with ramps, not one where they "could finally walk", and got really sad as people said to them they are "crazy", after all, who the hell would choose to stay disabled?
@guerrillarain why do people give israelis shit for having been in the military? _every_ israeli, who is not an orthodox jew, has to go for two or three years mandatory, no?
@natanji when you have ADHD, amphetamine relaxes you (as opposed to inducing fight&flight response). blood pressure and heart rate might still go up, but i feel uncomfortably apathetic when i take it π€·
@natanji it was the same for me, regarding school documents. but i could tell that i have a paradox reaction to amphetamines, and that methylphenidate was even better, which convinced my psychiatrist to go with it. for some people atomotexine works best, though, so i'd say go for it, and see what it does!
@douginamug@ebel I think a good code of conduct describes processes of dealing with problematic behaviour (the cryptoparty coc does this quite extensively, for example)
Not all do, though, and core of my argument was that licenses don't either, so why the fuss?ΒΏ?
@douginamug@ebel ok. what if you violate my gpl'ed code, and i don't want an external enforcer called in? what does such an external enforcer look like? is that process defined in the license? and what if you read my agpl'ed code, and write something that still resembles my original work, but is also somewhat different β and then hide it as SaaS. Where is the objective evidence in this?
Some of us left Twitter not just because of one thing or another but because the entire tone of the place was destructive to our mental health. Ok, me. I did.
The tone of my Mastodon feed has become so icky lately that I have muted and unfollowed people whose words I used to love reading, because they keep posting entire tweets directly without CWs and it really sucks, yβall.
