@thurloat Ahhhh wonderful, this is perfect. I may have to hit you up for suggestions when I'm out there if that's alright!

Also, looking like it's going to be around late September when I can go drive out east. Is the weather going to be okay or am I going to freeze/drown?

Canadians: I'm considering doing a roadtrip out to the east coast for a week or two.
Last summer I drove Toronto -> Vancouver, so I figure it's only right to go the opposite direction now as well.
It sounds fun, but... I don't really know what the East coast offers? For example driving to BC takes ages, but you just know that when you get there you are surrounded by gorgeous mountains and forests and lovely stuff.
What are your highlights on the east coast?

@liaizon wasn't sure if that was a universal reaction or just me, glad to hear getting stuffed up after a smoke is relatively normal! It's the worst though, a good chunk of the reason why I quit

I've heard a few of Stephen Hawking's books for example are great introductions into understanding the universe/theoretical physics, what is the equivalent introduction to your hobby/passion/interest?

Example of what I'm thinking in this vein is: Sapiens - deep read of human history and why we are what we are now. intriguing enough to keep me reading, but introduced me into a bunch of new concepts and knowledge I didn't know before

Though I am super keen on learning specifically about:
- Space, the universe
- Cars / mechanical stuff
- psychology, why we think what we think
- Geology
- History of the earth (not specifically humans)What else...

I really enjoy learning, so I want to read some more books to get base knowledge of a bunch of topics that I don't know much about.
Anyone have any suggestions in this regard? Literally could be about anything, as long as a regular joe like me can understand it and grasp the concepts quickly.

Now I'm back to being addicted to tweaking modulators and EQ settings. Not a very productive work day I have to admit. At least it's better than video games (for me)

But on the other hand, i would love more than anything to move out to a friend's place. I'm constricted at my family's house and it's not good either.

And the concept of possibly having a friend's life dependent on my day to day decisions makes me sick.

But now I'm having a major internal debate: if I move in there, whether I like it or not, the responsibility of dealing with him is going to weigh on my shoulders. I'm more than happy to help a friend survive, don't get me wrong.
The fact of the matter is. If I'm not in the house, he is alone. If he is alone and has a seizure, something really really really bad could happen.
The mere thought of this happening terrifies me.

One of my best friends asked me to move in with him, I gladly accepted and paid first month rent.
We get along great, it's going to be great.
The issue: he has epilepsy. He recently got a major brain surgery that was 'supposed' to have a great chance of stopping the seizures.
I was over at his house checking out the room tonight when he suddenly had a seizure. Thankfully an experienced friend was there and the ambulance came ASAP and everything went relatively okay.

I have to vent and I don't have any other tool I'm comfortable with to do it. Apologies in advance.

@thurloat yeah, I can totally see that being a good option.
On the other hand, I do really enjoy being near opportunities and 'things' going on all the time.
I think it requires a mindset shift for me to become more of a 'doer'. Cheers!
