Having a sign-up icon on the top of my profile makes no sense, since I don’t have sign-ups open, maybe having a link to explaining the fediverse makes sense, but not locking people into mastodon by leading them into a signup trap.
"I currently have a hard time living and can't maintain #Misskey or other projects. As you know, I am currently unemployed and have no income. Thankfully, I have income at Patreon, but I can't live by it alone. I'm looking for a job, but I don't know if I can find a job. I will resume development when I can earn money and my life is stable.Thank you for your support🥰 Any advice is always welcome🙏"
If I posted text posts about anything I cared about on facebook the algorithm would not show it to almost anyone thats even following me. It would literally just drop off the radar and be forgotten. I post a random thought here and people from around the world actually have a chance to respond. That is powerful. That cant be underplayed. The fact that we dont have to worry whether our messages have financial viability makes our ideas stronger. Our voices ring.
@dev has made a Telegram to #ActivityPub bridging bot! Seems it even goes both ways!? Would like to see what else can be done with such. The power of bots!
@neauoire I am glad to be here and don't regret anything really. I guess I have just been feeling confused as to where my friends went. I tried really hard to get friends to come over here but only managed to get a few people to actually use it. Pretty much everyone I interact with here I have never met in person. That is only starting to change as I am meeting new people (in europe) who are more tech savvy already.
@neauoire actually been thinking how much my time on almost exclusively on the fediverse has set me back. I am getting closer to one set of folks but much further away from many people I held dear whom I have basically lost touch with completely. as an example lot of artists I used to interact with on tumblr have since moved to private facebook groups and now have just dissipated from my "world"
