Hmm, did we lose power last night or not? Our white noise generator machine says yes (it went to battery at 3AM), oven says no (clock not blinking).

High winds are coming up, I can hear the trees rustling in the forest behind our apartment. Best to get in bed and get warm, in case power goes out.

@ajroach42 How exactly do you make action figures at home? Did you buy a plastic injection molder?

I made our traditional Thursday evening bread sticks with cricket flour. They turned out pretty good.

We didn't get a chance to watch "Strange Days" before New Year's so we're watching it tonight. It's held up surprisingly well. Can't believe this film is 24 years old. And Y2K is almost two decades in the past.

@kyzh It's so hard to game this thing out, I'm looking at it one step at a time. May is a terrible leader and needs to go.

I'm hoping May goes down in today's no-confidence vote. Brexit is madness and must be stopped at all costs. Chucking May to the curb is at least a step in the right direction, but much more will be needed after that.

I've been sick the last few days, but getting better. You know you have a good job when you're laying around at home thinking, "I really want to get back to work." Also very much looking forward to teaching my class tomorrow. I want to see my kids!

To register his comment the guy left a Twitter account link. Out of curiosity I clicked it, expecting to see MAGA shit on his timeline. I did. These people really are in a cult.

Commenter on my blog (article about GHW Bush) tried to argue that the recession of the early 1990s was a "hoax" and a media invention designed to elect Clinton. I've heard a lot of conservative lies about history, but I admit this is a new one. I lived through that recession. It wasn't fake.

@lobster_writer I've got a friend who does that on Facebook. Never quite understood it.
