It was so handy that @ duetosymmetry and I turned it into a LaTeX package. There are various grid styles (graph, quadrille, hex, iso, dot grid, etc), and both custom and pre-defined color schemes. Use it to easily print your own paper, or to make pdf page templates for your favorite tablet note-taking app. I use them with GoodNotes

I’m just going to say it: the best part of open-source federated social media is that you know the version number of the software you are using to share! I celebrate that # mastodon has reached release candidate 1 of version 4.2.0! (Also, can we just take a moment to acknowledge how awesome it is that we are “allowed” to edit posts and fix grammatical and spelling mistakes?)

I adore this scale model of the SNO detector (well, pieces of SNO so you can actually see things). The model currently lives in the common area of my floor in the surface building @ SNOLAB . From fraser@m.universetoday.com on Mastodon: If Neutron Stars Have Mountains, They Should Generate Gravitational Waves Astronomers have discovered the gravitational waves released by colliding black holes, neutron stars, and even the background waves from merging supermassive black holes. A new paper proposes that advanced gravitational wave observatories might be able to detect the presence of "mountains" on spinning neutron stars. Although they're incredibly dense, neutron stars have layers, and as they cool, their solid crusts might deform into regions farther from the central core. Today was an awesome day. I got to deal with # budget stuff, # strategy stuff, # computing stuff, # HALO stuff, and then I got to go home and work out. Oh, and we resumed the @ SNOLAB seminar series today after a late summer break, featuring Prof. Reina Maruyama ( # Yale University) discussing how to resolve the long-standing results of the # DAMALIBRA experiment ... with an awesome global # SodiumIodide # DarkMatter program!
