Today is my new faculty orientation day at # QueensU ! I joined the faculty September 1 last year and missed all the orientation opportunities last cycle, so I am excited to more fully integrate into my new institution today! It is hard to be seconded to a great lab like # SNOLAB while a faculty member at a beautiful university 6 hours driving away, so I am trying to make time quarterly to be present at Queen's to build and sustain new relationships and community.

Had a great time at the # Canadian # Astroparticle Physics Community Meeting. What a great Sunday. @ jodi and I went to # BellPark on Lake # Ramsey here in # Sudbury and checked out # PoutineFest . Had a good lunch and took a nice walk on the path along the park, where we ran into one of the park staff repairing a mural honoring the airport that used to be on the lake. It’s made from individual colored stones. Did some yard work, worked on our # DarkMatter book, and caught up on # HisDarkMaterials .
