Matthew DavidsonTongues are disgusting. Stand in front of the mirror and check yours out. See the wildly different shapes you can make it assume. It's just… Ugh! It's not right. Also there are teeth; little chunks of calcified matter embedded in soft flesh around the jaw. The digestive tract starts off horrifying and only gets worse as you progress. So much for the theory of a benevolent creator. (I'm not stoned, I was born like this.)
@tregeagle Yeah, it's the syncing that's the killer. I've been using #OpenShot, which has a UI that almost makes sense and doesn't crash very often, but seems to assume that what you're editing is your own uncompressed footage. Probably time for another trawl though the alternatives that sort-of-work. https://alternativeto.net/software/openshot/?license=opensource&platform=linux
@tregeagle Blimey. Those are some hills. I got my brother-in-law's old bike out of the garage this morning with the intention of riding round and round in circles at sea level for a while. Turns out I don't own a bike pump (the bloke who stole my bike stole the pump as well; left my helmet though - the criminal classes lack my mighty cranial volume). My cycling tour of #Sawtell and environs between 16th Ave and May St has been postponed till I can get to the shops.
@tregeagle Wow - autism by hardware. I need the opposite: some piece of kit that makes me aware of the people around me. Oh, hang on. I've had it all the time! Oh alcohol, what _can't_ you do?
@andyc A sad day for euphemisms. "Kleenex Mansize" is far preferable to "you expect alarming amounts of discharge from one orifice or another", just as "Family Size" packs of breakfast cereal are preferable to "you live alone, subsisting almost entirely on breakfast cereal".
@andyc Last stable #GNUSocial release being four years ago is not a good sign, granted. However I've no experience with #Ruby, unlike @tregeagle, who still has nightmares about it.

Matthew Davidson#DrWho 2018 ep. 2 was a bit meh. Never doubted Whittaker's ability to fit the part perfectly, but the story was decidedly lightweight, and carried all the hallmarks of being filler in yet another series-long story arc. These didn't work on the couple of occasions they were attempted in classic Who and are a tiresome trope in new Who. Chibnall, who as a fan suffered through the trial of series 23 on initial broadcast, should know better. In the 45+ minute format, two-parters are with rare exception the minimum required to support a rewarding plot, and it's far more reasonable to expect a casual audience to watch two consecutive episodes than twelve.
