@garbados Bethesda's Fallout is the most literal possible illustration of "it is easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism." The world actually ended, but capitalism persists

It'd be great satire if it was the least bit ironic in its presentation

@Are0h libs think predatory/exploitative inclusion is the solution to Racism. Not actually systemic change and restructuring from the bottom up. Anyone who points that out is “divisive “

@freakazoid @bhtooefr All this is true, but the polls also said Clinton would do better than she did, so it could have went either way if even Sanders was the candidate. And you're not wrong about the animosity stoked towards Clinton by outside forces, which is a whole other topic.

Ha, I appreciate you acknowledging that. I guess we'll both see how it goes, but the all the patterns are holding so far.

National election patterns in the US rarely change.

There's a reason white politicians constantly deploy racist rhetoric despite the fact we're supposed to be so WOKE as a country now. There's a reason why the States always bombs/threatens to bomb brown people around election time.

Because it works. The dehumanization and denigration of Black/Brown bodies is the most successful campaign strategy ever created in the States.

Racism just makes white people feel better. It just is what it is.

@freakazoid Oh yeah, that's another way we could do it, but we won't because that would mean politicians would have to confront their friends who make money off of military spending.

And there aren't many who are willing to do that, if any.

America goes out of its way to protect the wealth of white people.

@freakazoid @bhtooefr It's always interesting when people say this because Hilary did beat Trump, but the electoral votes didn't follow the popular vote, just like they did with Bush II.

Sanders was no doubt popular, but was he a better candidate that Clinton? Nah, I don't think he was if we look at their records. He's definitely a better *campaigner* than Clinton, but that doesn't always translate.

I don't we can assume he would have won, especially considering the Obama backlash

@freakazoid She did, but then she walking back on it with statements like that. She always gives herself an out, just like everyone else is doing.

We know how to pay for it. Most politicians just don't want to do it because they'd be asking their friends to pay more in taxes.

And there is no more protected class in America than rich white people.

so Starbucks is selling a disgusting looking Halloween frappe made with activated charcoal

and here's your yearly Halloween food PSA that if you take any kind of vital medications, be very very aware of any black foods you consume.

activated charcoal is what sucks up toxins from your body (like in the case of poisonings) but it will also soak up your medications and fuck you up. be careful out there.

@alice There is *always* so much effort put into harming Black/Brown folks that crosses political lines in the States that simply does not translate to harming people actually causing harm.

The desire to harm non-white people for the simple transgression of disagreement transcends whatever political line white people profess.
