    @amiloradovsky @orbifx I use https://f-droid.org/packages/de.baumann.browser/
It works for _me_, but I mainly open HTML 1.2 pages like http://okmij.org/ftp/gengo/transformational-semantics/ or https://danluu.com/input-lag/

As a bonus: pure HTML pages do not mine cryptocurrencies in the background and drain less battery! HTML is cool. 😺

@amiloradovsky @orbifx RMS is very calm when he talks how he used proprietary software to develop libre software. Karen Sandler is very calm and positive when she talks about her piecemaker with proprietary software.
Also Bunnie Huang is amazing explaining how purely libre hardware+software is a very difficult and privileged option.

No emotions here. I am half Vulcan 🖖

@amiloradovsky I am only curious. MuPDF is a small C codebase so it should be fast.

Sometimes I use https://f-droid.org/packages/com.commonsware.android.arXiv/ on my phone so I wanted to check how Acrobat behaves. On my Mali-400MP4 GPU AReader is the same thing as DV/muPDF so I do not miss anything.

@lthms [glad] those are joys of text driven communication. I’m happy everything’s clear now.

PS “Elcor speech is heard by most species as a flat, ponderous monotone […] subvocalized infrasound convey shades of meaning that make a human smile seem as subtle as a fireworks display. Since their subtlety can lead to misunderstandings with other species, the elcor prefix all their dialog with non-elcor with an emotive statement to clarify their tone.” ― http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Elcor

      Elcor
      from Mass Effect Wiki
The elcor are a Citadel species native to the high-gravity world Dekuuna. They are massive creatures, standing on four muscular legs for increased stability. Elcor move slowly, an evolved response to an environment where a fall can be lethal. This has colored their psychology, making them deliberate and conservative. Elcor evolved on a high-gravity world, making them slow, but incredibly strong. Their large, heavy bodies are incapable of moving quickly, but they possess a rather imposing...

@lthms heh, I have no clue how to correctly interpret your comment 🤷

Just in case of not-nice interpretation, I am sorry if I commented on something very obvious to you. I was surprised someone can get a patent on glyphs combinations. No harm intended.

@lthms whoa, a patent for combined glyphs… “An international patent application was filed, and published in 1992 under Work Order (WO) number WO9219458,[24] for two new punctuation marks: the "question comma" and the "exclamation comma". […] The patent application entered into the national phase only in Canada.”

@lthms I could beautifully typeset dialogs from Dr Who and toot them as images here. That is so evil, but I dislike tooting dialogs here e.g.:

    A: It can't fail.
    B: The generators?
A: The generators were built by the Eternity Perpetual Company. They last forever. That's why the company went bust.

Raw text dialogs are awful, but maybe less than an image with a marvelous typography. 🤷

@lthms ah, 'write crude text; get typography back' that makes sense. Thank you for answers. That has a nice niche on LaTeX ↔ https://docs.racket-lang.org/pollen/ ↔ raw text spectrum.

PS I use XCompose facility to enter anything from ‘🤷’ to ‘½’ or ‘(◡‿◡✿)’ but I see how !? → ‽ makes sense in publishing contexts and can be simpler.

    Cheers.

@lthms Is ‘??’ and ‘?!’ a convenient replacement when a user does not have a capable input method around? How to escape ‘??’ when I need to write ‘??’? Is there a raw mode in ogmarkup? Yes, yes, I should read ogmarkup manual first. So feel free to ignore my musings.

@lthms thank you. I should reverse timeline on masto to first read the oldest not-seen toots. Later on I saw the missing context but it was too late.

Why we cannot write ‘‽’ directly in ogmarkup in the same way as we write e.g. ‘a’? Is orgmarkup limited to ASCII input on purpose?
