Question for #Patreon#indiegogo creators et al. Do you ever wish you could auction your creations instead of accept a monthly subscription? E.g. if you've made something rare. I'm thinking of Dutch auctions here where the price goes down over time, so would avoid most Ticketmaster/EBay issues
Hi y'all! I'm a person from St Louis MO, I do programming professionally, was an English major, and I have a lot of interests. I'll likely be tooting about things I've learned, books I've read, startup ideas, creative prompts, and puns. #introductions
'I had quite a few more, and most thought it was a funny talk. (Oscar Wilde once said "If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh or they will kill you".)'
@b Tootdon has nice hashtag shortcuts and generally feels extra polished. Loving the diversity of clients in general. Web interface is also great on desktop.
@mwfogleman Definitely enjoyed them. Reminded me of my own productivity journey :D
I take a maximal approach, but started with GTD style and pared back until just what I needed for my workflow. Minimal filing + structure, something is either TODO or DONE, DEADLINEs and SCHEDULED dates provide prioritization. Reference materials in their own files, everything searchable by plain text. PARA ->
- Reference + Client + Personal (e.g. CRM) - TODO/clocking + Internal Biz + Personal TODOs
@mwfogleman I run a small consultancy and use #emacs#orgmode extensively: - 1 master file for all client todos. Each client gets a top level heading, tasks underneath. Drawer properties to make the client name show up in the agenda. - track time and add notes in the master file. Code/deliverables stay in a client specific file to avoid bloat. - add a clock table under each heading with a time range of the previous month. Re-calc & copy into accounting software on 1st of month.
I've had the exact issue you mention happen to me multiple times, and each time I've been delighted to be able to find what I wanted through the backups.
People were worried when Mastodon went from 20,000 to 500,000 people too. I don't see why you would think 1mil -> 2mil to be any different. I really don't agree with the comments that suggest that Mastodon shouldn't grow.
"Let’s say we want to build the TCP/IP stack of an operating system. A traditional implementation might take 10,000 lines of code. What if you rethought the design from the ground up? What if you could make the IP packet handling code look almost identical to the RFC 791 diagram which defines IP? That’s exactly what the Viewpoints team did. This is real code in their system:"
Hey everyone, I'm working on a guide on how to thrive on Mastodon. If youve been here for more than three months, I'm curious if you would have any advice for a new user to get them to stick around and not bounce off.
Did you know you don't have to upload GIFs to Mastodon? You can upload mp4 and webm directly instead. If they don't have an audio track they are treated as pseudo-GIFs.
Since Snapchat has both an export to camera roll function and a remove audio track function, you can upload your Snapchat recordings to Mastodon
