While nobody actually loves this weed, it seems to be successful beyond bounds. We have a strip of "tree lawn" which we maintain, though it is nominally town property. The town mercilessly brushes away the winter's impact on the narrow strip of lawn and crabgrass dominates what grows back.

That's my experience, too.

I keep an ebook reader at hand so I can silence the "wake up!" thoughts. Sometimes that works very well, and I get an extra half hour of reading done without disturbing my wife.

"Brazenly naked" does evoke the general feeling about not wearing clothes in a public way.

Naked, all by itself, seems less troubling to people, most of whom do shower without clothes.

I suspect that humanity will never become fully sanguine about the issue, no matter how hot the climate may become.

That makes a lot of sense.

There is the famous "Peter Principle" which says people get promoted into a position for which they are not qualified, and try like mad to fill the post, but lack either the motivation to learn or the sense to request a transfer. Fear of exposure, mixed with fear of failure.
