@hairylarry @goofy basically yes, it's an ActivityPub object. But it's a bit smarter, since you can follow it, and it will broadcast updates as well,.

So if tracks are added to this library and you are following it, you'll have access to them automatically.

I know I'm not posting much about #mnm (https://mnm.social) these days and the project is in maintenance mode.

However, someone asked me to release a dump of the data I gathered about Mastodon instances, to use it for a reasearch project and I thought you may be interested.

This is more than a year of anonymous data about instances, users, status, localisation, etc.

Bon, mes collègues et ma hiérarchie sont au courant, donc je peux ENFIN l'annoncer : à compter du 30 novembre, je serai officiellement au chômage.

Oui, c'est une bonne nouvelle, car en plus de faire ch*er Jupiter, je vais pouvoir me consacrer _a temps plein_ à Funkwhale.

Je précise que mon travail actuel était très bien (et mes collègues : 👌 ), c'est juste que Funkwhale a pris une importance énorme pour moi cette année, et je veux tenter l'aventure à fond !

#release 0.16.3 is out. I know, we jumped straight from the 0.16.1 to this one, the fact is that the 0.16.2 introduced a critical bug, so let assume it did not exist.

By upgrading, you'll fix:

- A CLI importer error on higher version of Python 3
- A front-end issue where the user was asked to chose an instance when visiting for the first time

J'ai commencé hier soir à travailler sur le plus gros changement de l'histoire de Funkwhale en terme d'architecture / fonctionnement (cf https://code.eliotberriot.com/funkwhale/funkwhale/issues/463)

Pour le moment ça se passe bien, ce que j'avais en tête semble fonctionner dans le code. J'ai hâte de voir ce que ça va donner !

J'ai un besoin assez urgent d'une graphiste qui serait prête à faire une bannière Facebook pour un événement de support trans. En gros c'est un café mensuel de rencontres et d'autosupport. On est un collectif sans ressource donc ça doit être bénévole (voyez ça comme de la solidarité militante ?)

Il s'agit de remplacer ce visuel. Est-ce que quelqu'un est prêt à nous aider ?

This is a note to people moving their repositories blindly to Gitlab.org: do you know Google is actually a huge investor in Gitlab?

The issue is not about Microsoft buying Github. The issue is about centralization and silos.

You do not solve that by moving your data from one silo to another.

You solve that by relying on small providers you can trust, or by becoming a provider yourself.

So, funkwhale 0.9 is out. With music library federation, and the foundation for interface internationalization that was contributed by @Bat

It's been a while since my last post on the subject, but here are some exciting news about #funkwhale: the #federation is actually usable now, as shown in the video below:

1. We follow another instance
2. We scan it's library
3. We import some tracks from it
4. We play those tracks from our own instance

You can't imagine how happy I am to see this actually working, after weeks working on the protocol/invisible stuff!
