Could someone confirm/infirm that statement I saw recently:

I don't' really like the title, but the article has some good arguments in favor of open source hardware.

You may have noticed many identical toots appearing then disappearing almost immediately from my timeline recently.
This is not spam.

@Riley @Gargron Indeed. I completely missed that, but it appears this is just an image upload.
Thank you for having pointed that out!

@Gargron I found an example of what I try to achieve:
This toot from the FSF (https://status.fsf.org/notice/281801) shows a thumbnail *in-stream*.
Apparently they achieve that by sharing both the link to their page *and* a link to a media
Is this the only way to display in-stream previews?

@Gargron Yes, exactly.
It's not clear to me how/if preview can be displayed in-stream when sharing links.

@Gargron OK, that mean we display a thumbnail preview if we share a link to a media (video or image). But not if we share a link to a page--even if it advertise oembed "photo" content?

I just don't get how/if we can embed thumbnails when sharing a *link*.
_Apparently_ it works for toots in my feed:
https://friends.nico/@Nightingalle/99122666630483971But never for the ones I post:
https://mastodon.social/@YesIKnowIT/99122657406875126In my case, the thumbnail is not displayed in the feed. But only when clicking to expand the toot.
FWIW, I just implemented oembed support on my site. So maybe did I made something wrong :/

Like it or not, Oracle is still a popular database solution. And Oracle Database skills remain in high-demand on the job market. But installing Oracle from scratch is a tedious task.
But, you can today have an Oracle instance up and running on your Linux box just by typing only three commands, thanks to Docker (and Maksym Bilenko;) !
Perfect to setup your for testing/development environment.

I'm an open-source enthusiast and promoter. But I have no other choice than admit, despite great opensource alternatives, Oracle Database still benefits of a huge popularity in the business world. At least, this is how I understand those data extracted from GoogleTrend.
The graph can be read as "in 2017 about 55% of the web search in Job & Education concerning the database topic where mentioning the Oracle Database software".
