In other Invasive Technology news, my phone now has a "feature" where it provides response recommendations for texts based off of what I usually respond with.

It's more than a little creepy, like there's a little gremlin on my shoulder saying "yeah, yeah, tell her that she's cute. Send her a winky face. Nice" every time I text my fiance.

Pretty fucking unlikely, considering that you're interrupting what I'm doing to beg for recommendations. Fuck off, Windows 10.

I think I have a problem with negatives.

So, like, here's an example: I was just scrolling through tumblr and saw a "psychology fact" that intelligent people care less about other people's opinions. I have no idea if the information is true or not, it's just text: "Intelligent people tend to care less about other people's opinions. Psychology fact."

Naturally, my first thought is, "Oh. I care quite a bit about other people's opinions. Therefore I must not be intelligent."

Does anybody else have problems with this, where they twist positive things about other people into negative things about themselves? Because I seem to have it in spades.

Reminder that really vapid shippers came up with a completely nonsensical theory "explaining" why the main lesbian ship of the show wasn't real because Mako was literally DEAD and had been replaced body-snatchers style with Nui, the abusive and manipulative lesbian ship that they wanted to see.

Like. These fans literally theorized that a main character had died off-screen with no evidence so that they didn't have to ship the canon non-abusive lesbian ship. What the heck.

Classes start tomorrow, I'm personally looking forward to the inevitable moment where one of my classes has an exploitable attendance policy and I never see the professor again. 🤷
